Is this the first time you used flash?

I was wondering this cause it seemed like a first work to me, which is fine and here are my critiques...1) I didnt realize that I already had the 'mailboxes' cause the counter said zero. That should be made clear. 2) Either the balloon, or the "enemies" are too big. I understand you have to DODGE, but if a lot is going on(which happened often) then you should have it to where its starts off easy, like just a few things to dodge, and then increase the difficulty as the player goes along. I scored the way I did, not soo much as a bad thing, but I want to save this so that other people may play this and offer the opinions too and hopfully help you make a better game!

Yes, you are absolutely right. That's my first game.
Thank you for your critiques, it is very important for me.

This is an interesting twist on this kinda game..

I like that in each level, that you begin what you were from the previous level, and it just gives it a sense of scale. I have a few reccomendations, if you do a sequel, give us some kind of scale indicator or something to let us know just how close to bigger objects you are, so that you dont go and unnessessarily kill yourself going after other objscts.(I found myself several times going after things I could take in, only to come across a huge planet that kills me, it gets kinda old quick and frustrating to have to continually repeat a stage. This takes the fun out of it.) Also, include a mini map or something. I dont know how you layed this out(the borders, to me anyway, signify either the borders overlap..like if I go all the way to the top, I suddenly appear at the bottom, or, if the game play takes place in a 4x4 grid, cause it seemed like there were different objects near the center when I crossed a border into another one) Basically, I just dont like the aimless wandering involved, because you have to really search out for the tiny objects you can absorb, and get really lucky even when you do. I dont mean to be overwinded, but I think this is a really good game that has a lot of potential!!!

That was a great game!

This was an outstanding effort, I coulda almost swore I was playing a Megaman game!! The sprites used animate great, the sound wasnt choppy, and the controls were really responsive!! My only couple gripes were these: 1) the default control scheme, I found myself doing something I wasnt, like dashing instead of jumping, stuff like that. I gave you a 9 for interactivity cause like I said, the controls are very responsive, as well as for the fact that you can change them) and 2) IT'S TOO DAMN SHORT! Please, next time, make it longer, hey, cut it up into several "episodes" or something. I know for a fact that it takes quite a while to put something like this together, Im not trying to fault ya for that or anything, but Im sure you will get a lot more props for making a longer game. Keep up the awesome work!

This needs some major work. . .but its playable

Firstly, I dont see why you couldnt incorporate the 'UNDO' option into the first "phase" of your game, because there are quite a few options that the player is given to wade thru until the correct option is chosen. Choosing wrongly makes the player have to redo the first portion of the game over and over, unless luckily, they choose right. Having to redo over and over really takes away from the playing experience(I do like that you did it later though). Secondly, this needed to be longer, maybe you were testing the waters or something, but if this is a 'completed' work, then you really need to sit down and think or more creative ways to continue the journey, cause the length of this game, including all the possible mistakes, and redo's, is about 4-5mins(for me anyway) Lastly, the music, which is fine, isnt long enough, and when it loops, it is VERY noticable, try to work on the length, or do a better job music editing, and this should be taken care of. One more thing, plaease dont think Im blasting you, I am only critiquing you, and I hope you take this as such, and try to improve upon your game.

On my next game I will have undo right at the beggining thank you for the advise.

Now that is how a falsh game needs to be made!!!

All authors take note....PLAY THIS GAME TO UNDERSTAND HOW TO MAKE A GAME!! Outside of a few others, you have made a great game!!! Well done, the sound was good, there were no real control gripes, and its a decent story too. I look foward to your next submission!!

Frankenroc responds:

Thanks for giving the message to other authors for me. Haha. Glad you enjoyed it.

For a demo, this was ok

Here are my critiques; Mario seems like he's walking on ice, he skids everywhere. I dont knock sprites, so the reason your 'Graphics" score was knocked is because they were choppy, there was no clear transtion between sprites for the animation. The sound was ok, and Im only assuming that the game was running slowly was because Im on a crap computer. Your level designs also need some work too. Again, I know this is a demo, and the things I mentioned are things I believe will make your game better. I scored the overall demo itself. Complete the game, I look foward to it.

This is a good game overall, but...

There are however, some faults. Firstly, the music, very choppy, very bad. Clean that up. Also, you should let people know about the 'trippy mushroom'..well, I will, it lets you jump REALLY far...so that you can cross a large gap. See, I looked at it, and it looked like the 'bad mushroom' from Super Mario Bros:The Lost Levels, the one that either kills you when you're small, or shrinks you when you're big. That, and you start out as Super Mario. Change that too. If you are able, add 'underground' areas, accessible by pipes, and of course, add more levels. One more thing, clean up the sprites a bit(I didnt knock your "Graphic Score" down cause you used sprites, Im all for them, keeps the nostalgia, but because they looked a little bad. Do these things, and your game will be awesome.

This was...ok

I thought it sucked til I clicked on the last one, where you beat the shit out of the other guy, I thought that was cool. Next time, each level should have combo beating, and with each level increase, the combos increase, and more stuff happens. That, and there should be more levels. like 10...

Man, that was fun, a BLAST even :P

Ok, I liked this, it was good. but the big tanks were pretty easy, and the little ones were a nuisance at best. The last guy was pretty easy too. Next time, here are some things I suggest, so that your next game is that much better: aerial enemies, and aerial attacks for your tank, more diverse enemies, powerups, better enemy A.I.
Oh, and make the game longer. Do those things, and you will definetly have a game that is in the TOP 50 for a long time, caus eI really liked it! Great effort!

Now this is how a game should be made!!!

Great job!! Sorry that I cant completely involve myself into this game * I am using my work computer, so no saving either:(*, but what I played was awesome, I had about 14 shards, so I think I played enough to warrant my scores. i could tell you put a lot of effort into your game, and it shows throughout....GREAT JOB

I am a sucker for sprite movies. mainly cause its interesting to see what people will/can do with characters from the past that we love and remember dearly(or not so). I also appreciate good animations from time to time too(Final Fantasy A++ is awesome!)
